Cultivation Through Artifacts

Chapter 122: Shocking!

Got killed in her dream and even saw his demise? Which he caused himself by committing suicide? Wasn’t this somewhat… Familiar?

Khal subconsciously swallowed down his saliva and asked, “About the part where you got to see those three corpses… What was their outer appearance? Their age, heights…”

“Huh?” Liza seemed surprised by Khal’s sudden questions and began to ponder, “Well, just like how I can’t remember the faces who killed me the same goes for them too. However, if I am right, they were a couple in their forties while the third one was a young boy only in his early teens. Maybe it was their child but I am not quite sure about that part.”

Khal lowered his hand below the table and tightened it into a fist while he started to sweat profusely.

Those there corpses… Weren’t they Nancy’s past parents and her little brother? No, that can’t be. Maybe just a simple coincidence.

As Khal pondered deeply and tried not to raise his hope for no reason, Liza sighed and continued, “Though, what makes me confused the most the way you died.”

“The way I died? How did I end my life?” asked Khal, curious and at the same time nervous to know how he committed suicide.

“It was strange, the whole dream was strange. It rained and you were standing on top of a strange building. He’ll, it was almost as big as a mountain! Almost like the realm pillar but with only difference it was full of windows and was made out of some kind of alloy akin to steel!” exclaimed Liza with awe in her eyes.

However, Khal didn’t seem to be happy nor shocked, but instead, his complexion stiffened rock solid.

“Haha, interesting. Don’t tell me in your dream I died because I decided to jump down. Haha, that would be hilarious!” chuckled Khal with a wry smile etched on his face.

“Actually, yes. You truly did threw yourself down and that’s exactly how you died,” exclaimed Liza in an instant.

“!?”

At this moment Khal couldn’t help himself but tremble uncontrollably. His arms, especially his fingers began to shake like leaves in a cold autumn afternoon whilst thick bean-sized sweat drops began to form on his forehead, neck, and back.

At this point, there was no mistake about it at all. That dream was his and her final moments from their past life! His and his girlfriend’s, Nancy’s!

“But how? Then this means she is her? Nancy? Did she get reincarnated too? But if yes, why can’t she remember it properly like me? How is this possible?”

Questions one after another popped up in Khal’s head, putting his mind into complete chaos in a split second!

“And that’s why I think this is a sign. A hint that tells me you shouldn’t go to that tournament! There… You will just die!” said Liza, her eyes becoming a bit teary from the worry she was currently feeling.

However, her worry gradually became confusion as she noticed that Khal didn’t react at all but instead remained indifferent without any hint of emotion on his face!

“You… don’t believe me?” asked Liza in a low voice, thinking that Khal didn’t trust her words.

“Of course I believe you, it’s just…” began to say Khal, but couldn’t finish his sentence as he didn’t know how to.

He can’t just go and say, ‘Hey, in fact, that was your memory from your past life and both of us got reincarnated into this world!’, can he?

Things now were way more complicated than that and Khal needed time to soothe his thoughts out.

That’s why instead of talking he simply waved his hand toward Lily, and said, “Please, I would like to pay.”

“Understood, Sir. Please wait a moment.” bowed Lily and went away to bring the bill for him.

On the other hand, however, Liza seemed sad and didn’t know what to say. In her eyes, it seemed that Khal didn’t believe her at all and even thought she wanted to stop him with such a ridiculous lie.

But in reality, she really saw that kind of dream night after night, and she truly belived it was a sign for her to stop Khal from participating in the tournament.

She thought telling him this would change his mind, but it turned out to be a huge mistake. Maybe she did the complete opposite and made him hate her for trying to stop him!

As she reached this point of thought, Liza subconsciously lowered her head in shame and stayed silent, dwelling deeply in her thoughts.

“Sir, here is your bill.” said Lily suddenly, as she handed a piece of paper to Khal, “It will be two Gold coins and four hundred Silver coins in total!”

Without even caring about the price, Khal paid the amount with his Badge and stood up, “Thank you very much. The food was delicious.”

“I’m glad to hear that. Please, come next time!” bowed Lily with a beaming smile and then escorted them out.

The two walked back to the Academy, but even after they have spent their time together in an amazing restaurant, they didn’t speak a word.

Instead, the silence between them was so heavy and grave that it felt almost like they were at a funeral!

That’s why, once they stepped through the Academy’s gate, Liza glanced up at Khal and smiled, “Thank you very much for the food, it was amazing. As for what I have just told you… Please just forget it. It was my mistake to tell you.”

Without even waiting for Khal’s answer, Liza took out her key from her pocket and with a white flash vanished into thin air.

Khal on the other hand didn’t move but simply stared at the spot where Liza vanished; currently, his face and mind were holding so many emotions that it was simply impossible to count.

The next day has arrived surprisingly fast and when the sun appeared high above the sky Logan, Jas, Bazz, and some of the teachers and students from Moon Academy stood before the gate, all of them waiting for Khal to arrive.

Liza was among the crowd too, but because of what happened yesterday she was unable to sleep or practice, and now she even seemed quite exhausted.

“There he is!”

Suddenly a guy among the crowd yelled loudly, causing everyone around him to turn their heads to the side in an instant.

“Are you ready?” asked Jas from Khal once he arrived before them with Rubie.

“She reached the Third Cultivation Stage already?” wondered Jas as he knew that Rubie was still a newborn, but naturally didn’t let his surprise be shown on his face.

“Yes.” nodded Khal only after he saw Nate’s smile and nod from the side; it seems he got the letter he sent with Rubie yesterday night, so he was at ease.

“Perfect. Anything you want to say before you go?” asked Jas calmly.

Khal glanced toward Liza’s direction, but instead of saying something he simply shook his head, “There is nothing.”

“I see. Then I wish the best of luck for you,” said Jas and tilted his gaze at Logan.

Logan nodded as an answer and after placing his hand on his shoulder he said, “Let’s get going, we have quite a few things to do in the capital.”

And just like that, everyone watched Khal vanished into thin air together with Logan, leaving Moon Academy maybe for the last time…
