Chapter 236 - Eternal Oath

[You indeed have a point.]

Nova remained silent for minutes before suddenly she sighed and started to talk.

[Then how about this. We will make an Eternal Oath and you will have no reason to fear me nor feel wary when I try to help you.]

\'An Eternal Oath? What\'s that?\' Khal asked Nova as this was his very first time hearing this definition.

[Eternal Oath is kind of like a contract where two sides agree on something and promise each other never to break their words.]

[However, in contrast to normal contracts where no severe punishment befalls on the side which breaks the promise, here, with an Eternal Oath, breaking your words means unavoidable death!]

[Let it be a God, an Immortal, a Mortal, or a Celestial Existence, if any one of them takes an Eternal Oath and breaks their promise, they will perish with no chance to regret their decision!]

Khal seemed startled to hear such a thing existed, but because he was still skeptical if Nova told him the truth and she didn\'t just want to push him into a trap, he chose to remain silent and go back to Moon Academy, or to be more precise into its library.

Once he was in there, he quickly searched for books that talked about contracts or oaths, and to his surprise, it wasn\'t long before he found one that indeed had a description about this so-called Eternal Oath!

And what was even more shocking, that its concept was wholly the same as what Nova just told him, showing she didn\'t lie at all.

Thus he nodded and said, now in a more relaxed manner, \'Okay, let\'s do it.\'

[Perfect choice. I knew you wouldn\'t be foolish enough to miss such a once-in-a-lifetime chance like this. Do you want me to hel-]

\'No need, I already have the knowledge of how to do it.\' said Khal, his words interrupting Nova.

[How rude... Well, whatever, do as you please.]

Khal ignored Nova as her words may be sounded genuine, he can never be careful enough, thus instead went into Moon City to see if he could buy an empty scroll as that was the very first step for him to form the Eternal Oath with Nova.

And to his surprise, he didn\'t have to search for long as he easily found a stall that sold empty scrolls, each having the same long and circular shape, but each in a different color.

After buying a black scroll for 2 Silver Coins, Khal walked back into his room to avoid unwanted attention during he did the Eternal Oath, and once the door was closed he said, "Okay, let\'s start it."

He then fused his Body Essence into his finger that soon formed blue light akin to blue flames and began to write words and draw symbols on the scroll, similar to the one he saw in the book back in the library.

Sometime later, Khal straightened his back and took a step back, indicating that after three entire hours later he finally finished his preparation. Now only one thing remained, and that was to vow their promise before the scroll.

"You can start it," Khal said to Nova, who surprisingly didn\'t talk until this very moment.

[You indeed took your time to draw such a simple Array.]

"Simple..."

Khal didn\'t know whether he should laugh or cry at that statement, as the Array he has just drawn into the scroll was extremely complex and it almost used up all of his Body Essence, which was currently 5543 units, almost 555 times more than any other Cultivator\'s Body Essence around the world!

[Well, whatever... Let\'s start it.]

After waiting for a while, Khal felt his bracelet lit up with white light, before Nova\'s voice sounded, but this time not in his head but in the surroundings!

"I, Tinera, vow before the Seven Supreme Existences that I will keep my promise and never betray Khal Nevio for the rest of my existence while also making sure to do everything in my power to help him in any situation until my power lets me do so! If I ever dare to break this oath, my body, soul, and spirit shall be obliterated from all Realms!"

Swish!

Immediately as Nova\'s voice fell, the scroll before Khal lit up with black light, surprising him a lot. However, he felt shocked not because the scroll lit up and the Eternal Oath seemingly worked, but the words Nova, or to be more precise, Tinera told.

[Feeling surprised? I bet this wasn\'t in the book you have just read, right?]

Tinera asked Khal, now inside his head, her voice holding apparent self-satisfaction.

"Well, I indeed feel pretty startled by this as the book only stated the two sides need to take their promise before the Eternal Oath Array and nothing like this. I was just surprised that\'s all."

[Yes, you can take a normal vow with normal words before the Eternal Oath Array, but then it won\'t work properly. That is why you need to say the exact words I just said to achieve perfect results without any mishaps!]

"I see, then I will do it," said Khal, and after taking a deep breath and rethinking his choice he nodded and started to talk.
